Man arrested for posting derogatory remarks on facebook

HARIDWAR: A 30-year-old man was arrested by Haridwar police on Monday night for allegedly posting derogatory remarks against a Hindu deity on social media.The accused was identified as Sonu Nautiyal, a resident of Jiyapota village. According to police, activists of Bajrang Dal lodged a complaint on Monday claiming that Sonu had posted derogatory remarks against a Hindu deity on social media. Hence, police registered a case and arrested the accused. Police have registered a case against him under section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code . He was later produced in a court on Tuesday.
