The hospital administration said that the move is meant to “relieve pressure” on hospital resources, and especially on its women’s wing, which is already battling staff shortage.According to estimates, up to 25% of patients being treated at the facility, the largest in the Garhwal division, come from Saharanpur, Bijnor, Shamli and Muzzaffarnagar. Many of them include pregnant women who visit the hospital for safe delivery.Secretary of health department, Nitish Jha, who visited the hospital on Thursday, said, “According to the hospital authorities, they are overburdened due to patients from other states seeking admission.
