Enact law to expedite Ram temple construction, Hindus losing patience: VHP to Centre

Haridwar: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Milind Parande said on Sunday that the Union government should enact a law to expedite construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya as the “Hindus were running out of patience”. As Hindus have waited too long already for a verdict in the case, they are losing patience due to further delay. In underprivileged colonies, temples will be developed as centres for social work,” he said. It expected that the Supreme Court judgment in the Ramjanmabhoomi case would be delivered this year. The demand was made during a two-day meeting of the central committee of the VHP that concluded in Haridwar on Sunday.Parande said, “Our society has faith in the judiciary. It expected that the Supreme Court judgment in the Ramjanmabhoomi case would be delivered this year. But the court has postponed hearing until January next year. As Hindus have waited too long already for a verdict in the case, they are losing patience due to further delay. They want the government to bring in a legislation to pave the way for the temple’s construction.”Parande also said that over one lakh people are expected to participate in the shankhnad (clarion call) rally at Ayodhya, while “several lakhs will congregate in Delhi to take part in the rally.”The VHP is organising ‘shankhnad rallies’ in Ayodhya, Nagpur and Bengaluru on November 25 followed by one in Delhi on December 9. The aim of the rallies is to put pressure on the government to enact a law for Ram temple at Ayodhya, said VHP central secretary (math-mandir branch) Hari Shankar.According to Shankar, it was also decided at the meeting that the outfit will work towards ensuring that each village and every Hindu locality has a temple. “Each temple will take up a service project. In underprivileged colonies, temples will be developed as centres for social work,” he said.
