Peyjal Nigam workers threaten to go on strike against salary dues

Dehradun: Workers of Peyjal Nigam have threatened to go on strike from this week if the state government does not release their pending salaries immediately. The only solution is to protest.”General secretary of PeyJal Nigam, Vijay Khali, also alleged that the government did not clear dues of retired employees.“Approximately, 300 retired workers have not got their pension. The agitating employees claim that they did not get their dues for the past two months.Praveen Rawat, president of the Peyjal Nigam workers’ union, told TOI , “Nearly 500 employees have not been paid for the second consecutive month and thus are unable to sustain themselves. If the state government does not release the sanctioned fund in addition to an agreement to regularise salary payment within two days, the employees will go on a pen-down strike,” he said. We have already made efforts to speak with the officials regarding promotions and salaries, but in vain.
