40 physical education teachers detained

By evening all protestors were released.Presently over 11,833 unemployed physical education teachers are struggling for jobs in Uttarakhand DEHRADUN: Forty unemployed physical education teachers, who were protesting at Parade Ground for the last 285 days, were detained when they started marching towards chief minister TS Rawat’s house, on Thursday.Over 60 such unemployed degree holders of Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) and Master of Physical Education (MPEd), were protesting under the banner of ‘Trained Unemployed Physical teachers Association’, where they demanded that the government hired individual physical education teachers for each primary class till the intermediate (class XII), in every government-run school.The protestors, who were sitting at Dharna Stal, planned to march towards the CM’s house. They took out a rally from the protest spot and were immediately stopped by police. Police detained forty protesters. This resulted in a little tussle between the police and protestors.
