Rudrapur: The principal of a private school has been arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl student in Sitarganj in Udham Singh Nagar district. The principal allegedly raped the girl when she had come to his house for a tuition class on Friday.The accused was arrested from his house on Pilibhit Road. The accused, Jeevan Singh Bisht, 35, was sent to jail on Sunday.According to police, Bisht was arrested after the girl’s mother filed a complaint against him at the Sitarganj police station. He has been booked under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.Sanjay Kumar, SHO (Sitarganj police station), said that the victim’s mother complained to police on Saturday that her daughter, a student of LKG, had gone to their neighbour’s house to take a tuition class where she was raped.“The girl has been sent for medical examination while the accused was sent to jail,” said the SHO.
