30-year-old Kashmiri booked for ‘hurtful’ comments on CRPF killings

Roorkee: A 30-year-old man from Kashmir was on Saturday booked in Roorkee for allegedly making ‘hurtful comments’ over killings of CRPF personnel by terrorists.According to police, Rauf Ahmed of Pahalagam in Kashmir visited a garment shop where he allegedly got into an argument with the owner over the CRPF killings. Taking offence to his remarks, the shop owner filed a complaint with the police.“We have registered a case against Ahmed under sections 505 (promoting public mischief) and 153 (promoting enmity between different religious groups) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” said Rajesh Sah, inspector of Gangnahar police station.Sah said Ahmed has been kept under police custody, and security cover has been increased to his 10 other friends who have come here from Kashmir to sell woolen shawls.
