Mortal remains of Army Major killed in J&K reach Dehradun

He was scheduled to get married on March 7 and he had left from Dehradun on February 2 for J&K after completing his marriage shopping. Dehradun: Army personnel, police along with grieving family members and friends received the mortal remains of Major Chitresh Bisht who was killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district while defusing an IED planted by terrorists on Saturday.The body of the 29-year-old slain Army Major reached Dehradun’s Jolly Grant airport in a special air force plane and from there it was airlifted to the military hospital un the city.Giving details, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dehradun Nivedita Kukreti, told TOI, “The body has been kept inside military hospital and it will be cremated on Monday.”Sources said that the Major’s brother, who works in the UK, also reached Dehradun on Sunday, besides other family members who have also started reaching Dehradun.Governor Baby Rani Maurya and CM Trivendra Singh Rawat have expressed condolence on the death of Major Bisht.
