Dehradun: Angered over the alleged ‘inaction’ of police in the mysterious disappearance of his 17-year-old son, a man has been staging a dharna at Dhaula Tappad in Vikasnagar area on the outskirts of Dehradun since Tuesday evening.Resident of Vasant Vihar, Sanjay Juyal has claimed that his son, Raj Juyal has been missing since February 13 afternoon along with a girl, who lives in their neighbourhood, . “He told his grandmother at 12:30pm before leaving home that he will be back in a while. However, he did not come,” Juyal told TOI.On his complaint, police filed an FIR in Vasant Vihar police station under section 363 (kidnapping) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched the investigation. However, Sanjay Juyal claimed that police is not doing enough to search his son.Reportedly, both Raj and the girl were last seen near Kulhal area under the jurisdiction of Vikasnagar police station. Scooter of the missing boy was recovered from the spot.When contacted, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dehradun, Nivedita Kukreti told TOI, “According to the call record of the boy, his last location was near Kulhan. Police even questioned the friend he spoke to last from his mobile phone.”According to sources, Raj’s friend who was questioned by the police said that Sanjay Juyal spoke to his son which might have panicked Raj.When asked, Sanjay accepted that he spoke to his son around 1:30 pm on February 13 and asked him where he was. “That was the last time I spoke to him,” Sanjay Juyal said.“According to the CCTV footage, both, Raj and the girl, are seen entering a lane leaving their scooter behind. However, the footage confirms that they did not cross Kulhal barrier,” SSP Dehradun said.Meanwhile, police on Wednesday conducted a search operation along Shakti canal in search of missing the boy and girl.
