Rajya Laxmi Shah’s assets over 180 cr, rise in assets of other BJP contestants

Shah has Rs 30,000 cash in hand, moveable property worth Rs 5.77 crore and immovable property worth Rs 90 lakh. Whereas her husband has 40,000 cash in hand, moveable property of Rs 29.67 crore and immovable property worth Rs 143 crore. As per the details furnished by him, his moveable assets are worth Rs 69.98 lakh and immovable assets are of Rs 15.39 crore. In comparison to Shah’s 2014 affidavit, her moveable assets worth have increased from Rs 22.3 crore to Rs 35.53 crore in 2019. In 2017, Bhatt had moveable asset of Rs 3.60 lakh and immovable assets of Rs 38 lakh.

Dehradun: The nomination process for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections came to an end on Monday. While Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah and Tirath Singh Rawat had filed their nominations earlier, the remaining three – Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Ajay Tamta and Ajay Bhatt - filed their documents on Monday.While the Tehri family is the richest, there has been a rise in the asset of other candidates. In the last seven years, the assets of royal Shah family of Tehri, has gone up by Rs 30 crore. The total property of Shah and her husband is worth Rs 154 crore. Shah has Rs 30,000 cash in hand, moveable property worth Rs 5.77 crore and immovable property worth Rs 90 lakh. Whereas her husband has 40,000 cash in hand, moveable property of Rs 29.67 crore and immovable property worth Rs 143 crore. The total worth of moveable and immovable property of the Shah family is around 180 crore.According to the affidavit filed by Shah, she completed her senior secondary schooling from Ratna Raje Laxmi College in Kathmandu in 1971.Shah had filed her nomination in Dehradun on Friday. She along with her husband owns the royal properties like Bhagwan Das road mansion, Narender Nagar Palace, Ananda in Himalaya and Ridge house in Narender Nagar.The erstwhile royal family also owns a fleet of nine cars including BMW and Porsche. In comparison to Shah’s 2014 affidavit, her moveable assets worth have increased from Rs 22.3 crore to Rs 35.53 crore in 2019. However, her immovable assets have remained the same Rs 143.90 crore.BJP’s Pauri Garhwal constituency candidate Tirath Singh Rawat also filed his nomination. Rawat’s moveable assets have increased from Rs 27.30 lakh in 2012 to Rs 51 lakh in 2019 and immovable assets have grown from Rs 95 lakh to Rs 99 lakh.For the Almora seat, Ajay Tamta also filed his nomination papers and according to his affidavit, his movable assets recorded minor increase from Rs 24.66 lakh in 2019 to Rs 24.18 lakh stated in 2014. Tamta’s immovable assets shot up to Rs 39 lakh to Rs 60 lakh in 2019.BJP state chief Ajay Bhatt filed his nomination paper on Monday. As per the details furnished by him, his moveable assets are worth Rs 69.98 lakh and immovable assets are of Rs 15.39 crore. In 2017, Bhatt had moveable asset of Rs 3.60 lakh and immovable assets of Rs 38 lakh.
