Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of a Sainik Dham structure in Purkul Gaon on Saturday morning.

The dham would have the details of all the defence personnel from the state who have laid down their lives for the country since Independence.

CM Rawat recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Uttarakhand as the Sainik Dham as the state has given (and continues to give) several brave jawans to the country.

The Sainik Dham structure will be built to pay a tribute to defence personnel, who guard the borders and help the society when needed, said the CM. He added that all clearances have been provided and funds are available for the project.
