Amid the Covid19 surge and the uncontrollable situation created in the state, Harak Singh Rawat, the cabinet minister has given an indication that if the state does calm with the corona cases then the command of the arrangements can be given to the army.

Garhwal and Kumaon Regiment can be fielded from the army. He said that he himself has spoken to Governor Baby Rani Maurya and CM Tirath Singh Rawat in this regard. As Chief Minister, Harak Singh himself will meet the Governor in this regard on Friday. However, when CM Tirath Singh Rawat was asked to seek the help of the army, he appeared to be avoiding a direct answer to the question. CM said that with the help of DRDO, at present, five-hundred-bed hospitals are being constructed in Haldwani and Rishikesh. Oxygen plants are also being set up in these hospitals.

CM Rawat said that he himself will visit AIIMS Rishikesh and take stock of the hospital under construction. As the situation is getting worse the hospital beds are no more vacant leading the fresh patients queuing up for ICU and Oxygen beds.

Thursday records the highest number with 8517 cases so far with 151 deaths. Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat says that if we compare with UP, then in a small state like Uttarakhand which has eight times more cases relative to the population of UP, it is very worrying.
