The Indian Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued an alert for heavy rain expected in three districts of Uttarakhand.

IMD on Wednesday predicted heavy rainfall in three districts of Uttarakhand. The three districts are Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Bageshwar.

Light to moderate rain is expected in the Dehradun, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts of the state.

The IMD issued an alert for the same. Meanwhile, the IMD also issued an impact-based weather warning according to which heavy rainfall is expected over most parts of east India and adjoining central India from June 10 onwards.

The warning said that heavy rainfall is likely to continue in the coastal districts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala until June 15.

The IMD provided action steps to be taken in the event of heavy rainfall. These include avoiding areas that often face water-logging problems and not staying in vulnerable structures.
