The decision of reopening schools comes after the state cabinet observed the decrease in covid cases in the state. 

Class 6 and above students would be able to attend offline classes from August 2, 2021, onward. The Uttarakhand Cabinet on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, approved the re-opening of schools for secondary students. However, the decision on the reopening of schools for primary students is yet to be taken by the state government.

Not only Uttarakhand, but various other states in India have also taken decisions on the reopening of schools, colleges and other educational institutions.

The Uttarakhand State Government would be releasing COVID 19 protocols and SOPs soon. All the schools across the state have been instructed to follow the guidelines strictly. It is to be noted that attendance for offline classes is not mandatory. Also, students must submit parent’s consent letter in order to attend offline classes.

As the Schools are reopening for offline classes, students, staff, and teachers have been asked to follow instructions such as wearing masks, sanitizing hands at the proper interval,s and maintaining social distancing while on the campus. Students having symptoms of fever, cough, cold, etc will not be allowed to attend classes on campus. Meanwhile, online classes will also continue ensuring proper synchronization of the teaching-learning process.
