2 Raj men held for duping Doon woman

Dehradun: Two men -- Anees Khan and Qadir Khan -- from Rajasthans Sikar were arrested by Uttarakhand cyber cell for allegedly duping a Dehradun woman of Rs 18 lakh on pretext of promising "to earn money by liking Youtube videos and subscribing to Youtube channels", police said on Thursday.DSP (state cyber cell), Ankush Mishra, said that the two were traced on the basis of bank account details to which the complainant woman had transferred the amount. He said, Based on the address and phone number mentioned in the bank account, a police team went to Rajasthan and nabbed them. He transferred the money in 16 transactions before realizing he had been scammed. A case has been registered with the police. Similar cases have been reported in other cities as well.Woman duped of 8 lakh, 2 arrestedTwo men in Lucknow duped a woman of Rs 8 lakh by promising her a government job. They even helped her secure a loan from a bank. After transferring the money to the womans account, the men switched off their phones and did not fulfill their promise. The accused, Alex Mark Odudu, claimed to be a doctor from Houston and asked the victim for money to return to India and marry her. The woman sent him 27 lakh before realizing it was a scam. Police seized mobile phones and a car from the accused.
