Teachers oppose direct appointment of principals

Dehradun: Teachers of government schoolsopposed the decision to fill 692 vacant principal posts through direct appointment by the education department and are planning a protest on November 6. A report submitted by court commissioners highlighted the hospitals deplorable state, including concerns about the building, availability of doctors, hygiene, security, and budget allocation. The court has directed the state government to appoint an IAS officer as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to address the issues. The court commissioners will visit the hospital again in two weeks to assess progress.HC orders the promotion of superseded Mulgao teacherThe high court in Panaji has ordered the promotion of the senior-most teacher at Dnyanprakash Mandal Bicholim Higher Secondary School. The court found that the teacher was more qualified than the candidate who had been appointed as headmaster. The court also quashed the appointment of the current headmaster and directed the schools managing committee to appoint the teacher as the principal in charge. The court ordered the school management to pay the teachers legal costs. The teacher had challenged his supersession and alleged a breach of education laws. The court criticized the school management for their actions.
