4 km cycle track to come up near ISBT in Dehradun

DEHRADUN: A 4-km-long cycle track from ISBT to Dat Kali temple in Dehradun has been proposed. "Meanwhile, NHAI also has plans to construct a tunnel near the temple to ease the traffic on Delhi-Dehradun highway. Some people also wanted to be able to walk to the temple so we have decided to initiate this project. "Mayor Vinod Chamoli said, "The local residents wanted a walking and cycling track as due to rampant construction in Dehradun they do not have much space left. Yusuf said, "The tunnel will be approximately 350 metres in length and cost Rs 2.5 crore.

DEHRADUN: A 4-km-long cycle track from ISBT to Dat Kali temple in Dehradun has been proposed. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will be the executing agency for the project. Mohammad Yusuf , executive engineer, NHAI, told TOI, "The project is still in its initial phase and we need to get the government's approval before it can be started which may take some time. Since the road is part of the forest, we will need approval of the department concerned."Mayor Vinod Chamoli said, "The local residents wanted a walking and cycling track as due to rampant construction in Dehradun they do not have much space left. Some people also wanted to be able to walk to the temple so we have decided to initiate this project."Meanwhile, NHAI also has plans to construct a tunnel near the temple to ease the traffic on Delhi-Dehradun highway. Yusuf said, "The tunnel will be approximately 350 metres in length and cost Rs 2.5 crore. The present tunnel will be made one-way so there are no traffic jams."
