State government hold first meeting for Maha Kumbh preparations

The government plans to spend around Rs 100 crore for development works related to Maha Kumbh. DEHRADUN: With crores of devotees expected to throng Haridwar during the Maha Kumbh scheduled for 2021, the state government on Tuesday initiated the process of preparations for the mega event.Urban development minister Madan Kaushik held a meeting with the departmental officers and instructed them to prepare a roadmap with 15 days in this regard. As a part of the preparations, the department aims to complete the Laksar-Bijnore ring road project by 2021 before the event begins.The minister also sought proposals from the officers to set up new ISBTs before 2021.Besides, the urban development department will also ask various like Public Works Department, Irrigation Department and Power Department seeking details of their requirements during the mega event.After all the data is gathered and complied, a detailed plan will be sent to the chief minister for the final round of preparations.
