DEHRADUN: With crores of devotees expected to throng Haridwar during the Mahakumbh scheduled for 2021, the BJP government has started its preparations for the mega religious event. Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik on Tuesday, held a meeting with the departmental officers and instructed them to prepare a roadmap with 15 days for Mahakumbh. For the crowd and traffic management, the department aims to complete the Laksar-Bijnore ring road project by 2021.Besides, the minister sought proposals from the officers to set to new ISBT before 2021. Prior to the approval of construction work, the government would identify the land and check the vehicle capacity of the ISBTs. Besides, the urban development department would write the various departments including Public Works Department, Irrigation, drinking water and power to seek a details on their requirement for the Mahakumbh. After the entire data would be compiled, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat would review a meeting of the preparations. A massive amount of Rs 100 crore would be utilized for the works of tourism department, beautification and parking slots.
