The CBI office received a complaint on April 6, 2016, from Sri Baghwan Mishra, who was posted as an assistant teacher in government higher secondary school in Khatima, alleging that the accountant was demanding a bribe for rectifying discrepancies in his provident fund account.According to prosecution lawyer Satish Kumar, “The complainant found out in April 2016 that there was a discrepancy of Rs 2.71 lakh in his provident fund account. To rectify the discrepancy, he approached the senior accountant in his office and he agreed to do so in lieu of Rs 5,000.”After Mishra’s complaint, CBI laid a trap and caught the senior accountant from a hotel in Dehradun while accepting the bribe. “Shukla hails from Agra in Uttar Pradesh and was posted in Dehradun.
