HARIDWAR: Actor Anushka Sharma’s spiritual guru Maharaj Anant Baba, is alleged to have left for Italy a few days ago after performing special pujas and rituals at his Anant Dham ashram in Haridwar, trigging further speculation of the wedding between the actor and Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli in the Mediterranean country.Incidentally, the last time when rumours of their secret engagement were doing the rounds, images of the couple posing with the seer outside his ashram had flooded the social media.On Saturday, when TOI spoke to a disciple of the baba, he said, “Babaji informed us that he is going out of the country to participate in a big function. He had added that one of his disciples is getting engaged on December 12 and he would return in the last week of December.”The disciple added that Sharma and Kohli “wanted to get engaged in December last year but were advised by babaji to postpone their plans till next year as the time was not auspicious.” “Babaji has also fixed their wedding date”, he claimed.Pictures of the seer at Delhi airport with the Sharma family added further fuel to the claims. While Anushka regularly visits the ashram to seek the blessings of her guru, Kohli had also accompanied her last year, when the couple was visiting Ananda Spa near Rishikesh. The actor has often praised her guru, saying that she “turns to him for mental peace.”Meanwhile, Anushka’s 83-year-old grandmother, who stays in Dehradun, denied being aware of any wedding bells.
