Crime doesn't pay! Snatcher mowed down by car, killed after grabbing mobile

When 21-year-old Sandeep snatched the mobile phone of an unsuspecting passer-by, little did he know that he would lose his life for doing so. "Two persons on a motorcycle came close to him and snatched the mobile phone from his hand. WAS RIDING PILLION Sandeep who was riding pillion on a bike in South East Delhi's Okhla area on Saturday morning, tried to snatch the mobile of a student who pursued him and the driver. Yadav also sustained injuries as he was dragged by the two-wheeler for which he has been shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre.

When 21-year-old Sandeep snatched the mobile phone of an unsuspecting passer-by, little did he know that he would lose his life for doing so. But that's just what happened. Sandeep who was riding pillion on a bike in South East Delhi's Okhla area on Saturday morning, tried to snatch the mobile of a student who pursued him and the driver. In his panic to escape, he ran into traffic and was moved down by a onrushing car who then sped away Police officials say that they are trying to trace the driver of the car and Sandeep's accomplice who also fled from the area. Speaking about the incident, a senior police official said it took place around 8:00 am when Sumit Yadav, 17, was on his way to his school located in Kalkaji and was walking towards the Chowk area. "Two persons on a motorcycle came close to him and snatched the mobile phone from his hand. In order to catch them he (Yadav) caught the motor-cycle they were travelling on from the back and was dragged for some meters before they were forced to stop at a red light," said Chinmoy Biswal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-East. At the red light, Sandeep, who was the one who had snatched the phone, panicked, got off the bike, and started running wildly into traffic.While running he was crushed under the wheels of an unknown vehicle. In the meantime, his accomplice fled on the motor-cycle. Police said that Sandeep was a resident of Govind Puri. His parents have been informed and the body has been sent for post-mortem. Yadav's mobile was recovered from Sandeep's possession. His parents have been contacted. Yadav also sustained injuries as he was dragged by the two-wheeler for which he has been shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. WAS RIDING PILLION
