Tension brew between two groups from different communities here after a minor girl accused a man of raping her on Tuesday. However, senior police officers said that medical examination of the girl did not confirm rape on Thursday. The man, however, is absconding. Narrating the ordeal, the victim's father, a resident of Naya Baas Village in Sector 15, told DNA that they only came to know about the incident only on Wednesday when their daughter unveiled the details of the assault on her. "She had been keeping quiet since Tuesday evening and looked disturbed. It was only when I and her mother asked her repeatedly, she revealed the incident and narrated her ordeal. She initially said that our family is under threat. She told me that on Tuesday evening one of our neighbours, identified as 19-year-old Dilshad, had threatened her that he will kill the entire family if she told anything to them," the father said. The girl revealed that it was around 3 pm when the accused lured her into his house while she was playing outside her house. "He took her inside the house and locked the door. He then forced her to remove her clothes and raped her. Later, he threatened her not to tell her family else he will kill her parents," the father added. On the basis of her complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 376 (rape), 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or another imprisonment) and section 3/4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against Dilshad. However, the police officer said the medical examination of the girl did not confirm rape but they are investigating the case. "The accused Dilshad is absconding. We have formed teams to nab him," said a senior police officer.
