New Delhi, April 26The Delhi Government has directed all private schools in the national capital to ensure that each child, whose name has been selected in the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) draw, is granted admission. The direction has been issued after it came to light that some schools were denying admission, claiming general seats had been filled. However, after raids conducted by the DoE it was found that some schools had concealed actual enrolment in order to deny admissions to children under the EWS. "The Chief Minister had received multiple reports of schools denying admission to children under EWS, claiming that their seats under the general category had been filled and no seats were left for the EWS category," the official added. A similar issue had cropped up last year as well.
