more-in A 25-year-old man from Bihar was allegedly bludgeoned to death with a hammer by two men, including his friend, in outer Delhi’s Narela late on May 19, the police said on Sunday. The police said the deceased has been identified as Sharavan Kumar Das. Sharavan’s friend from his hometown suspected him of having an affair with his wife, they added. She lives with her in-laws in a village in Bihar’s Banka. “The two men — Sunil and Ajit — were arrested later in the day. The hammer was seized from them,” said DCP (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta. Sunil, who worked in a factory in Narela, had warned Sharavan several times in the past to stay away from his wife, the police added. Multiple wounds Sharavan had come to Delhi on May 18 in search of a job and was staying with his cousin’s in Narela. Sharavan went out in the afternoon on May 19 and did not return home. A PCR call was made at 6.30 a.m. regarding a body lying in a park in Narela. A mobile phone and some money was found in his pocket. Also, the body had multiple wounds on the head and face, the police said, adding that a murder case has been registered. Probe revealed that Sharavan was last seen with Sunil. They interrogated him but he initially pleaded innocence. He confessed to the crime later. Sunil’s interrogation led to Ajit’s arrest. Sunil told the police that he planned Sharavan’s murder soon after he learnt about his arrival in Delhi. Sunil lured him to the factory where he worked on the pretext of drinking. They were joined by Ajit. “The trio then went to Alipur and consumed liquor again. The two brought Sharavan to the park and attacked him with the hammer till he died,” said an investigator.
