Delhi University will conduct Open Day sessions from May 21 to May 29. The sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. at the Conference Centre, near North Campus gate 4 . The university said the sessions will impart knowledge to applicants and their parents about the registration process, admission process, schedules, and information related to eligibility, required documents and quotas. “After a short presentation, expert comments of panellists representing various departments of the university will follow,” said the Registrar. The admission committee has encouraged applicants to attend these sessions so that students can get all doubts cleared before submitting the forms. ‘To avoid errors’ The committee also said there were instances where they had noticed that the students, in a hurry to fill the form, made errors that could not be changed or modified after submission of the form. These errors eventually cost the students a seat at the university. DU has this year launched its admission portal early to provide students enough time to read the information bulletin carefully before filling the form. Students from CBSE schools, who have not yet received their mark sheets, can also fill the form, which will automatically update their marks. The first cut-off list will be released on June 19. This year, there is only one form for merit-based and entrance-based courses at the undergraduate level. Students opting for sports quota as well as ECA admissions will have to fill the same form. At the end of the process, depending on what course the student has chosen, the application fee will be charged. Students will also have to provide their bank account numbers so that refunds can be remitted instantly. The admission form will cost ?150 for general category and ?75 for reserved category applicants. One can apply to any number of merit-based courses through this form.
