Delhi: Exchange old AC, get 47% discount

NEW DELHI: Power distribution company BSES has started a scheme where consumers can exchange their old AC with a new one at a discount of 47% on its market price.The scheme will be applicable for consumers in West Delhi initially. Old ACs also consume more electricity. Similar schemes are also likely to be launched by power distribution company BYPL in East and Central Delhi areas.BSES would be distributing ACs of Voltas, Godrej and LG brand in this exchange scheme. It is estimated that a consumer can save up to Rs 7,500 in annual electricity budget by replacing old ACs with the new ones.The leakage of Hydrofluorocarbon from the old ACs also adds to the global warming posing a bigger threat to the environment.New ACs would be delivered within 15 days of registration. A consumer can register for the scheme through BSES helpline: 011-3999970 and toll free number-19123.Cosumers have an option of selecting the brand and make (spilt or window) of the AC while registering for the scheme.
