Del Technical snag delays trains on Violet Line

"Delhi Metro please owe an explanation regarding the delay on violet line. NEW DELHI: Commuters travelling by Delhi Metro 's Violet Line ( Escorts Mujesar-Kashmere Gate) had to face delays during peak morning rush hour on Tuesday after a signalling glitch affected train operations.Commuters complained that trains were crawling on Tuesday morning and stopping for a long duration at stations. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that due to a problem in the signalling system, trains had to be operated on manual mode as operations could not be controlled from the Operations Control Centre. Metro has been stationed at Mohan Estate for the last half hour," tweeted Talia Vishal, another commuter.The Violet Line had witnessed massive disruptions on July 5 after a portion of a metal railing fell on a train near Jangpura. There were announcements that the train is delayed due to a technical issue," said Pawan Sharma, a commuter.

As a result, trains were passing in manual mode in this section resulting into little bunching for following trains on the section during this period," a DMRC spokesperson said.Commuters, however, complained that trains were delayed by up to half an hour."The trains were moving at a painfully slow speed and I felt I was travelling by a bullock cart. There were announcements that the train is delayed due to a technical issue," said Pawan Sharma, a commuter. "I reached my office in Sarita Vihar almost 30 minutes due to the slow service," he said."Delhi Metro please owe an explanation regarding the delay on violet line.
