New Delhi: The passengers onboard Jet Airways flight to Bhopal had a harrowing time on Tuesday evening as they were made to wait for over six hours due to a technical glitch at the IGI airport. The aircraft had to return to Delhi just half-an-hour after take-off owing to a technical snag.The flyers, who were shifted to a second aircraft, were allegedly made to wait for three hours, following which they were asked to shift to a third one. However, the flight had to be eventually cancelled as it had exceeded the flight duty time limitation (FDTL) of the crew.The Jet Airways spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the passengers were provided an alternative flight the next day, along with compensation and accommodation. “The flight was delayed following an air turn back due to a technical defect. Unfortunately, an alternative aircraft arranged to ferry the guests also developed a technical issue. Eventually, the airline was forced to cancel the flight owing to FDTL,” he said.He added that the flyers were offered accommodation at hotels or hosted at the airport lounge as per preference. “The airline also extended appropriate compensation to affected guests, besides making alternate travel arrangements to Bhopal on Wednesday. Jet Airways regrets the inconvenience caused to guests,” the spokesperson said.
