The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his wife to death from Chhijarsi area of Noida on Sunday morning. Police said that the accused murdered his wife over suspicion of her illicit relations with some other man. The crime was reported on July 11. The woman, identified as Mamta, lived with her husband, Ajay in a rented house in Chhijarsi village. She was found dead with a knife stab on her neck allegedly by her husband inside her house. Police registered a case and probe was launched. "Acting on a tip-off, the arrest was made on Sunday. He has been produced before the court and sent to the jail" said Amit Kumar Singh, station house officer, Phase 3 police station. Police said that the accused is a cancer patient and the disease got diagnosed nearly six months back. Since then his wife refused to have any physical relations with him and developed relations with some other man. The accused murdered her over suspicions of illicit relations and denying for having physical relations with him. "Upon interrogating, the accused confessed to have committed the crime. He disclosed that he murdered his wife as she developed relationships with other men and denied having any relation with him as he was suffering from mouth cancer. We have also recovered the knife that was used in the crime from the possession of the accused" added Singh. The family hails from in Lalitpur district. However, nearly three months back Mamta moved to Noida with her two kids where she started working in a factory and Ajay had come to Chhijarsi to meet his kids a week before the incident.. CANCER PATIENT Police said that the accused is a cancer patient and the disease got diagnosed nearly six months back. Since then his wife refused to have any physical relations with him and developed relations with some other man.
