more-in Three persons were arrested on July 14 for allegedly firing at a man in south-east Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, the police said on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said that the accused have been identified as Shakeb (25), Samad alias Rizwan alias Ganja, and Sameer alias Talib. On May 31, Shadab Khan reported that the three accused had stopped and abused him when he was going home around 1.20 a.m, the police said, adding that they also thrashed him. Then they opened fire at the victim after which he sustained an injury in his leg. During investigation, raids were conducted and on July 14, the trio was arrested from Sarai Kale Khan, the police said. Pistol recovered Mr. Biswal said that a countrymade pistol and a live cartridge was recovered from their possession. During interrogation, the accused allegedly told the police that Shakeb runs a private parking space in Batla House and in March, there was an altercation between his parking attendant and Shadab’s nephews. “Shakeb met the complainant to settle the matter which turned ugly after which he misbehaved with Shadab. From then, Shakeb had planned to teach him a lesson,” Mr. Biswal added.
