The South-East district of Delhi Police arrested three, including two brothers on Saturday who had stabbed their younger brother's minor widow to death in Tajpur Pahari near Badarpur, last week. The victim's husband had committed suicide two months ago, police said. According to the police, the accused identified as Amit Kumar, Anil and a juvenile, believed that the girl had driven their brother to take the extreme step. Both Amit and Anil are residents of Faridabad in Haryana. A 16-year-old girl was killed by three men at her house in Tajpur Pahari on July 16. Police said the family of the girl had alleged that the girl's brother-in-law and two other men had come to their house and stabbed her. According to the police, the girl's family alleged that her in-laws used to blame her for the death of her husband, Ayush (19), who had committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Faridabad two months ago. Police said that the husband had committed suicide when the girl had left her in-laws place and gone to live with her parents as her husband failed to get any permanent job. "We conducted raids at their residence in Faridabad but they were absconding. On Friday, a police team received information that the accused Amit and Anil will visit Tughlakabad Metro station. The team laid a trap and arrested the duo. In their instance, a juvenile, who also had assisted them in the murder, was apprehended. The knife that Amit had used to stab the deceased, and his bloodstained clothes were also recovered," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal. During interrogation, the accused told the police that they were upset with their brother's suicide and even after Ayush's death, she did not return to her in-laws' house. "Annoyed over this, they planned to kill their brother's wife. Last Monday, Amit along with his elder brother Anil and the juvenile, went to the girl's parent's home. Amit was carrying a knife, he went to the terrace and stabbed the girl," said Biswal.
