The building was located in the Akash Nagar area of the Masuri police station limits."One male labourer of the seven injured persons recovered from the debris so far has been declared dead in hospital," said Ghaziabad district magistrate Ritu Maheshwari.The dead man was identified as Rahul from a tattoo on his right hand. But investigation is on to know more details about him, IANS quoting police said. The incident occurred at 3.30 pm in Akash Nagar. When senior superintendent of police Vaibhav Krishna reached the spot, the locals said that the building was a shelter for labourers since it was yet to be completed.PTI quoting Ghazibad police reported that there was no reports of more people being trapped in the collapsed structure.The building collapse was a result of poor construction that was affected due to the rains, said Maheshwari, who along with Ghaziabad SSP Vaibhav Krishna reached the building collapse site."Prima facie, it seems the building collapse was a result of poor construction that was affected due to the rains. A magisterial probe has been ordered into the incident through ADM (Finance & Revenue). Some more labourers are feared trapped inside the debris. Rescue operations are on in full swing," Maheshwari said.Local police and two teams of NDRF rushed to the spot and began the rescue operation.It was a five-storey building comprising ground and four floors above. "Three teams of NDRF, comprising 125 personnel, have been pressed into service. These include dog squads too," said NDRF commandant PK Srivastava.PTI quoting an Uttar Pradesh government spokesperson said in Lucknow, "Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district magistrate and the senior superintendent of police of Ghaziabad to visit the site of building collapse and take immediate action for rescue, along with NDRF personnel."Adityanath also asked the district authorities to lodge an FIR and take action against the guilty.The incident comes a day after a four-year-old boy and a 23-year-old labourer died when the wall of an under-construction house, apparently owned by a police officer, caved in on Saturday morning in Noida.On Tuesday, a six-storey under-construction building collapsed on adjacent six-story building, leading to a complete fall in Shahberi in Greater Noida, killing nine persons.
