Gang of auto-lifters, burglars busted, four arrested by Delhi Police from Dwarka

On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, the cops on patrolling duty spotted three boys on a motorcycle with a twisted rear number plate and no number plate in the front. The Delhi Police arrested a gang of four criminals on Sunday accused in various cases of auto lifting and burglary. The gang confessed to their involvement in cases of robbery, snatching, burglary and stealing of cars, motorcycles and scooties. On checking the registration, it was found that the motorcycle was reported stolen from South Dwarka in May. "The gang of boys would venture out after drinking in the evening at their rented flats and thereafter rob valuables from Dwarka," said Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka District).

The Delhi Police arrested a gang of four criminals on Sunday accused in various cases of auto lifting and burglary. The accused have been identified as Vinay alias Jaat (21), Rahul (20), Pardeep Kumar alias Atul (22) and Akash (18). On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, the cops on patrolling duty spotted three boys on a motorcycle with a twisted rear number plate and no number plate in the front. On checking the registration, it was found that the motorcycle was reported stolen from South Dwarka in May. The police apprehended the trio after they were found riding the bike very suspiciously. On sustained interrogation, the trio revealed the involvement of a fourth member who was later arrested. The gang confessed to their involvement in cases of robbery, snatching, burglary and stealing of cars, motorcycles and scooties. "The gang of boys would venture out after drinking in the evening at their rented flats and thereafter rob valuables from Dwarka," said Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka District). With the arrest of the gang, the police have been able to work out 11 cases involving them and have recovered one country made weapon (desi katta), two live cartridges, two stolen cars, five motorcycles, two scooties, housebreaking equipment, one sharp dagger, eight master keys used for breaking locks of cars, motorcycles and scooties and seven high-end mobile phones. Further investigation is in progress, the police said.
