Alcoholic robber arrested by Delhi Police, bike, mobile recovered

The cops are making efforts to arrest other associates and connect the recovered mobile phones to their owners. With the arrest of accused, the police have been able to solve eight cases and have recovered one country-made pistol, one live cartridge, 21 stolen mobile phones and one stolen Apache motorcycle. The Delhi Police arrested a criminal accused of robbery and snatching, the police said on Sunday. "He was arrested for a similar case in 2017 from the Connaught Place Police Station area when he was a juvenile and a stolen motorcycle was recovered from him then. The accused used to receive stolen mobile phones and valuables from other pickpockets and sell them along with his loot to one Sunny alias Katta at a prefixed place in Govindpuri.

The Delhi Police arrested a criminal accused of robbery and snatching, the police said on Sunday. The accused was identified as Faizal Alo (19), a resident of West Delhi's Khyala Village and was active in South Delhi's Kalkaji and Govindpuri areas. A team of Special Staff was assembled who deployed informers and gathered information following which a trap was laid near Macchi Market in the Govindpuri area on July 17. The accused was found roaming around in an Apache Motorcycle in the area when the police tackled and overpowered him. During interrogation, Alo revealed that he had attended school till class 5 and then dropped out. Following which he had become an alcoholic at a very young age. He also confessed that lack of money to fulfill his need for alcohol led him to snatch and steal motorcycles. "He was arrested for a similar case in 2017 from the Connaught Place Police Station area when he was a juvenile and a stolen motorcycle was recovered from him then. He has spent time in an observation home earlier but continued committing these crimes after he was released from there. He would steal two-wheelers and use it for snatching and robbing from isolated pedestrians in dark streets," said a senior police official. The accused used to receive stolen mobile phones and valuables from other pickpockets and sell them along with his loot to one Sunny alias Katta at a prefixed place in Govindpuri.
