Rains to continue till Tuesday in Delhi: IMD

The rain activity will continue till Tuesday when the maximum temperature is expected to hover between 34 degrees to 35 degrees Celsius. Areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar, on the other hand, received 6.2 mm, 10 mm, 23.8 mm and 9.4 mm rains respectively in the same period. On Saturday, the maximum temperature settled at 34.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 28 degrees Celsius. The Delhi Traffic Police via their Twitter handle kept updating commuters about the waterlogged areas to be averted to avoid inconvenience to Delhiites. However, because of the rains for the consecutive day, heavy traffic congestion was witnessed in Delhi and the adjoining NCR. Waterlogging was reported in Dwarka sector-12 at KM Chowk towards Ashirwad Chowk.Situation was no different at Nangloi bus stand in Najafgarh. Commuters faced difficulties in Bahadurgarh bus stand as well. Waterlogging was also reported at Mundka traffic signal, Mahipalpur Chowk towards Gurugram near Rangpuri and Mahipalpur towards Vasantkunj. According to meteorological department, the Safdarjung observatory, recorded 7.9 mm rainfall and the maximum temperature was 34 degrees Celsius. Areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar, on the other hand, received 6.2 mm, 10 mm, 23.8 mm and 9.4 mm rains respectively in the same period. Rains also lashed parts of Noida, Gurugram in the afternoon. The sky remained cloudy throughout the day. On Saturday, the maximum temperature settled at 34.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 28 degrees Celsius. The weatherman has forecast generally cloudy sky with moderate rain on Monday. On Tuesday, the sky will remain overcast with possibility of light rain.
