Two killed as roof of house collapses in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A couple was killed while their three children were injured after their house collapsed in Hari Vihar near Dwarka on Monday early hours.Cops say that a PCR call was received at Dwarka North police station that "roof has fallen" at Hari Vihar, Kakrola dairy. Three children- Vaibhav (19), Gulshan (16) and Gunguna(9) have suffered injuries in the incident.As per elder son Vaibhav, the house was owned by his father and he was born in the same house. Due the leakage of water, the "T-iron" used to hold the weight of the roof became weak with time. They had also put a layer of bricks on roof to stop the leakage. The weak T-iron rods were unable to take load of the roof, hence collapsed.Postmortem of the deceased Sunil and Archana will be conducted at DDU hospital.The SDM of Dwarka has sought a report for granting ex-gratia to the affected family.An FIR has been registered in connection with the incident.

Local SHO, ASI Roshan Lal and others rushed to the spot.Cops found that roof of a one-room house had collapsed and a family of 5 (husband-wife & 3 children) was under the debris.They were immidiately pulled out and taken to hospital by PCR and CATS ambulance around 3.15am.The Dwarka SDM has sought a report into the incident.The deceased have been identified as Sunil (40) and Rachna (40). Three children- Vaibhav (19), Gulshan (16) and Gunguna(9) have suffered injuries in the incident.As per elder son Vaibhav, the house was owned by his father and he was born in the same house.
