Seven-year-old raped by neighbour in Delhi’s Seemapuri, accused arrested

A 7-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a neighbour in Shahdara’s Seemapuri area on Monday evening. She was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where she is undergoing treatment and is said to be stable. He allegedly raped her and left her there. Ms Yadav said that the 20-year-old accused, a rag picker, was arrested on Monday night. The accused has been arrested, police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav said that the victim was playing outside her house when the accused lured her into coming with him to a secluded place. He allegedly raped her and left her there. The girl was found bleeding when a relative spotted her and brought her back home. She was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where she is undergoing treatment and is said to be stable. The parents, in the First Information Report alleged that a pipe was inserted in her private parts. The police said that, in her medical examination, insertion of a foreign object was not found but she was injured. Ms Yadav said that the 20-year-old accused, a rag picker, was arrested on Monday night.
