more-in A Class IX student of a school in Madhu Vihar was allegedly sodomised by his two classmates on the school premises, the police said on Monday. The incident came to light on September 20, when the victim’s parents witnessed behavioural change in their son and went to see a doctor. “We have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act at Madhu Vihar police station. The victim has named two of his classmates in the complaint. The students involved in the act have been apprehended and sent to a juvenile justice home. Further investigation is on,” said a senior police officer. Summer camp incident “Since 2017, when the student was in Class VIII, he was allegedly being sodomised by the two students. They had gone to a summer camp together. Thereafter, the victim was sodomised on several occasions on the school premises,” the officer added. In his statement, the victim informed the police that the two boys were from a different section of the same class. He had met them during the 2017 summer camp. The boy claimed that one of them called him to a computer lab to show him a programme during the camp and forced himself on him. The accused was joined by a friend, who took turns to assault the victim. They threatened him with dire consequences too, the Class IX student claimed. He added that the classmates later took him to a toilet inside the school and assaulted him. When another classmate caught them red-handed during a science exhibition, the two boys forced him to accompany them to the school toilet. They threatened the classmate with dire consequences as well. Behavioural change The victim’s parents said they saw sudden a change in their son’s behaviour. He stopped speaking to them and often stayed inside his room. When they tried to talk to him, he refused to speak to them. However, he later narrated the ordeal he had been suffering for the last several months. The parents had approached the Madhu Vihar police station, after which the boy was taken for medical examination. The doctors examined him and recommended legal action. An FIR was registered. “A police team has also questioned the school staff about the incident. Footage from CCTV cameras in the school is being scanned to establish the sequence of events,” the officer added.
