NEW DELHI: A couple was thrashed by a group of men in Aya Nagar in south Delhi on Sunday in a road rage-related incident. The accused allegedly tracked down the woman claiming that she didn’t give space so that he could overtake her car.A case has been registered under IPC sections of assault, wrongful restrain, molestation and stalking, police said.The woman who got the complaint registered alleged that she was overseeing work going on in a drain near her house when her neighbours told her that a man was standing outside her house hurling abuses.“I have never seen or met the man. He claimed that we hadn’t given him way to overtake earlier. He attacked and tried to strangulate me when my neighbours restrained him,” the woman said.As local residents surrounded the suspect, a cop came and took him away. However, he returned a few minutes later along with other men armed with sticks. The woman told police that the group entered her house and hit her with stones. Her husband was also thrashed by the group, who left after attacking them.The incident recorded on mobile phones by neighbours shows a cop taking the prime suspect away. CCTV footage from the area also showed the man, wearing a yellow T-shirt, standing outside the woman’s house holding a stick in his hand. Police are trying to identify the man and a probe is on to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
