Delhi: Rising burn cases heat up Supreme Court order

Of the 85 cases at the Safdarjung Hospital, 32 cases were Diya related while 53 burn cases were due to firecrackers. At Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, total Forty-four burn cases were recorded this year as compared to 29 last year. While most hospitals were busy taking care of the rush in the emergency wards, AIIMS confirmed no burn cases. "We received 44 Diwali-related burn cases in our casualty till the morning of November 8, of which 17 were under 19, 24 adults and three senior citizens. Safdarjung Hospital, which has a big burn-ward, received 104 burn patients between 9 am on November 7 and 9 am on November 8.
