Two days after a senior manager at the Faridabad office of Tata Steel Production and Distribution Limited (TSPDL) was shot dead, police have arrested the accused, Vishwash Pandey. Police said Pandey was fired from the organisation about four months ago, on the basis of a report submitted by the victim. According to police, Pandey was planning to fly to Singapore on November 15, where he had recently secured a job. “Pandey was arrested near Sainik Colony in Faridabad, and has confessed to the crime. He said that the deceased, Arindam Pal, and two other employees of the company, had plotted against him to get him sacked, and this was why he wanted to kill them,” said Sube Singh, PRO of Faridabad police. Police said the accused purchased a pistol and 25 cartridges for Rs 90,000 to execute the crime. Two days before Diwali, he even fired two “practice shots” in a park in Faridabad during the day, added police. “He managed to get a job in an MNC in Singapore before he committed the crime. He had already applied for a passport and visa through RMR visa company in Chandigarh, and was scheduled to fly to Singapore on the 15th of this month,” said PRO Singh. “He was produced in court Sunday and has been remanded in three-day police custody, during which he will be questioned further,” he added.
