Three dreaded criminals were arrested after a brief encounter between them and the Dwarka police on Friday evening in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh area. The three arrested accused were allegedly planning to eliminate members of Manjit Mahal's gang. According to the police, information was received that Vikas alias PK, who was also wanted in a murder case, would visit Najafgarh-based gangster Kapil Sangwan at the latter's residence, and would be accompanied by his associates. Following this, a team of officials probed the information further and raided the house. During the raid, three persons from the house started firing at the police officials. The cops retaliated by firing in the air and warned the criminals to surrender. However, nobody was injured in the exchange of fire, and around half a dozen rounds were fired. "The accused have been identified as Nakul Sangwan alias Deepak, a resident of Mahendergarh, Rohit alias Gahlawat, a resident of Jhajjar, and Tarun, a resident of Rohtak. All three have been arrested. However, Vikas was not found present at the spot," said Anto Alphonse, deputy commissioner of police, Dwarka, Delhi. The accused told the police that they had gathered there to plan and eliminate close associates of rival gangster Manjit Mahal. Nakul has previously been involved in a case under the Arms Act. Tarun has two previous cases registered against him. A VIOLENT FRIDAY
