Man kidnapped and assaulted for three days in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar

A 32-year-old man was kidnapped and brutally assaulted for three days over monetary issues in Malviya Nagar area of south Delhi. According to the police, the victim was identified as Shahnawaz, a resident of Savitri Nagar in Malviya Nagar. The victim’s brother, Gaffar, alleged that his brother was kidnapped and beaten between January 8 and 11. “The victim’s family didn’t reach the police station. Further, it was disclosed that the victim had borrowed money from various people, because of which he had a fall-out with them.

A 32-year-old man was kidnapped and brutally assaulted for three days over monetary issues in Malviya Nagar area of south Delhi. Police have not yet received any formal complaint from the victim. According to the police, the victim was identified as Shahnawaz, a resident of Savitri Nagar in Malviya Nagar. The victim’s brother, Gaffar, alleged that his brother was kidnapped and beaten between January 8 and 11. He said even after he approached the local police, they were of no help. Shahnawaz was later taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre for medical examination. “He was brutally beaten with sticks and had marks all over his body. We haven’t approached the police yet as they didn’t help us earlier,” said Gaffar. Further, it was disclosed that the victim had borrowed money from various people, because of which he had a fall-out with them. The police however denied the claims made by the family. “The victim’s family didn’t reach the police station. If they had done so, necessary action would have been taken,” said an official.
