Farmers want village names in Noida metro stations

We demand that the names of the villages can at least be used as part of metro station’s name,” said Nabbu Singh from Hoshiarpur village.The farmers have already met Noida Authority CEO Alok Tandon, Gautam Budh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh raising their demands.Noida Authority officials say the committee which decided on the names of the stations had finalised the names on the basis of sectors. A NMRC official said the demand was not likely to be taken up by the Authority as the possibility was ruled out in a board meeting earlier.
