NEW DELHI: The mutilated body of a man who went missing a few days ago was found buried in his own house in northwest Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar on Wednesday evening. The victim’s wife and her male friend are suspects in the murder.DCP (outer-north) Gaurav Sharma confirmed the discovery of the body and said that the woman is being questioned. The victim, Rajesh, a native of Bihar, had recently moved with his wife and son to the one-room rented accommodation in Amrit Vihar Colony. His wife had reported him missing to the local cops around five days ago.While police teams were searching for him, the landlord discovered that a portion of the floor of the house had been dug up and covered with a layer of sand. When he inquired about it and didn’t get a satisfactory answer, he checked it himself. To his horror, a body part came in his hand following which he called the cops who dug up the spot and found a mutilated body. The head was missing.Upon medical examination, the body was found to be of Rajesh. Another police team is looking for the remaining body parts. Forensics experts have collected evidence from the scene of crime. The victim’s wife was taken in for questioning after she emerged as the prime suspect . The investigation also revealed that another man is behind the murder.The investigating teams are scanning CCTV footage of the area to ascertain the sequence of events that led to Rajesh’s disappearance and his murder. Cops are also speaking to local residents to probe a personal enmity angle. Technical surveillance has been mounted to check for movement of strangers in the area.
