Congress leader and party's Delhi in-charge PC Chacko said, "We've proposed an alliance with AAP in Delhi. AAP leader Sanjay Singh met me and we discussed our corresponding strength. But AAP wanted the alliance extended to other states, which was not possible practically," he said. "We made it clear that the proposed alliance would be restricted to Delhi. Meanwhile, AAP said either there will be alliance in all four states – Punjab, Delhi, Haryana and Goa – or there will be "no alliance at all".

The Congress on Tuesday announced that it is "compelled to go alone" in Delhi in LS polls as Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken an "impractical view of the situation". Congress leader and party's Delhi in-charge PC Chacko said, "We've proposed an alliance with AAP in Delhi. The two parties had initial discussions. AAP leader Sanjay Singh met me and we discussed our corresponding strength. Accordingly we had proposed 4 seats for AAP and 3 for Congress." "We made it clear that the proposed alliance would be restricted to Delhi. But AAP wanted the alliance extended to other states, which was not possible practically," he said. Chacko said, "Congress is still ready for an alliance if AAP agrees to our terms." Meanwhile, AAP said either there will be alliance in all four states – Punjab, Delhi, Haryana and Goa – or there will be "no alliance at all".
