Amit Shah to be Home Minister, check full list of ministers and their portfolio

The portfolios of the Ministers were announced on Friday, with first-time MP Amit Shah getting the crucial Home portfolio. The Defence Ministry will now go under Rajnath Singh, and Nirmala Sitharaman will be the first full-time woman Finance Minister.

Fifty-seven Ministers, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi were sworn in on Thursday at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The portfolios of the Ministers were announced on Friday, with first-time MP Amit Shah getting the crucial Home portfolio. The Defence Ministry will now go under Rajnath Singh, and Nirmala Sitharaman will be the first full-time woman Finance Minister.

Giant killer Smriti Irani has been allotted Women and Child Development in addition to Textiles, a portfolio she held earlier. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Dharmendra Pradhan and Piyush Goyal have retained their old portfolios of Law, Petroleum and Railways respectively.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi:  Prime Minister and also in-charge of: Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy; Department of Space; and All important policy issues; and All other portfolios not allocated to any Minister.
