Ind vs Pak: Rohit Sharma & K L Rahul breaks record of Tendulkar & Sidhu

Rohit and Rahul broke the record in the 16th over on Sunday in Manchester.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave a perfect start to the Indian team at World Cup 2019 match against arch-rivals Pakistan at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday. As the two batsmen got better grip at the crease, they went on to break a 23-year-old record set by Sachin Tendulkar and Navjot Singh Sidhu for the highest opening partnership in a World Cup match against Pakistan.

 

 

 KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma got the partnership of more than 100 runs against Pakistan pacers at Old Trafford. Earlier highest opening partnership record  in World Cup against Pakistan was with Sachin Tendulkar and Navjot Sidhu who got 90 runs partnership for the first wicket in 1996 World Cup match against Pakistan in Bengaluru. India posted a total of 287 and won the match by 37 runs.

Rohit and Rahul broke the record in the 16th over on Sunday in Manchester. Rohit helped the duo get the landmark in style with a cut against leg-spinner Shadab Khan. The duo added a 100-plus stand for the opening wicket, thereby becoming the first Indian pair to do so vs Pakistan in a World Cup match.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul started cautiously as Mohammad Amir bowled his first spell brilliantly. But as both got settled they started playing the bowlers comfortably.

KL Rahul got out for 57 runs in 24th over at the bowl of Wahab Riaz while Rohit Sharma is still batting at after scoring his 24th ODI Century
