Police get notice in Mukherjee Nagar case

New Delhi: The Delhi Minorities Commission has issued a notice to Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik on police brutality against the Sikh Gramin Sewa driver and his minor son, who were beaten up and dragged on road in the Mukherjee Nagar Police Station area on Sunday. Taking cognisance of the complaints of Harminder Singh Ahluwalia and Harsimran Singh Rakhral against the unknown police officials, for assault on driver Sarabjeet Singh and his minor son, the commission asked to file reply and status report of the incident by June 24. The commission said if the Police Commissioner failed to submit the reply and status report, a legal action would be taken against him. Besides, on a call given by Sikh group, a few community people gathered at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj today to discuss the next course of action against the police personnel involved in the incident.
